With a love of nature and natural forms I fill sketchbooks with scribbles and ideas using charcoal and fingers, not refering directly to them once in the studio I rely on memory of mark making and begin working in a spontaneous and intuitive way. I try to evoke feelings and emotions by using colour in a dynamic and energetic way, my intention is always to enjoy the process of painting and allow the work to take on a life of it’s own and eventually to lead me as I get nearer to the finish
